Mottaki calls for unconditional talks with 5+1 Group

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, July 4, IRNA
Iran-Nuclear-Mottaki
Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Tuesday stressed the need for unconditional talks with the 5+1 Group on Iran's peaceful nuclear program.

"All countries proposing the package of incentives (to Iran) can be present in the talks; the negotiations can be transparent and aim to remove ambiguities," said Mottaki in an address to a joint press conference with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim al-Thani.

Mottaki hoped for understanding with all the EU states, involved in offering the incentives package, based on a comprehensive formula.

He said he and his Qatari counterpart had held talks on mutual cooperation in investment, energy, gas, housing and hotel building fields and on increasing air flights and exchange of labor.

He said that the talks with Qatar, which is a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, are needed to make Iran's stances on the nuclear issue transparent at the international level.

Al-Thani for his part hoped for settlement of Iran's nuclear issue through peaceful means.
