Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei here Sunday pointed out that contrary to claims of the West, no consensus has been reached by all sides to the Iran nuclear issue.

"The consensus is among monopolistic and politically ambitious countries which is of no value to Iran," said the Leader in his address to a huge crowd of people gathered at the late Imam Khomeini's mausoleum in southern Tehran to mark the 17th anniversary of his demise.

"US and Zionist political and propaganda networks have launched a huge propaganda war against Iran."

The Supreme Leader noted that 116 members of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), a grouping of independent states, and the Organization of the Islamic Conference support Iran's brave technological activities.

"World countries working for a bright future for their nations are against monopoly in nuclear technology," stressed Ayatollah Khamenei.

The Leader warned that any wrong move of the US with respect to Iran will "seriously endanger energy flow in the region."

Addressing the Bush administration, Ayatollah Khameieni said, "You will never be able to defend security of energy supplies in this region."

"We do not initiate war. We do not want war with any state. We have noble ideals. We intend to use our resources to bring material and spiritual prosperity to our nation and make it a model for other nations," he added.

"Iran's goal is to use its enormous and rich human and natural resources in the right place and free the country from the intimidation and bondage of the past several centuries," the Supreme Leader said.

He emphasized that the noble Iranian nation, with its power and dignity, had for years been kept backward by dictatorial powers and their cronies.

Iran has friendly ties with European and Arab countries and once energy shifts from the current oil to gas, these ties will improve further, the Supreme Leader added.
