President points out Europe's 3 historical mistakes over Iran

Tehran, May 29, IRNA
Iran-Ahmadinejad
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that Europe's support for the dictatorship of Iran's former Shah, its support for Saddam in Iraqi-imposed war against Iran and its approach towards the country's nuclear issue over the past 1-2 years are its three historical mistakes against Iranian people.

According to a report released by the Presidential Office Media Department, the chief executive said the above in an exclusive interview with the German magazine, Spiegel.

The president said, "The Europeans should notice that if they defend Iran's inalienable right to access nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, this will be in their own interest.

"However, if they intend to interpret the remarks of US officials for us and confront the Iranian nation, it will be against their own interests, given the determination of our powerful nation to vindicate its right.

He said despite Iran's extensive cooperation with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), including inspection of Iran's nuclear facilities for over 2,000 times, submitting more than 1,000 documents on the country's nuclear activities and installation of IAEA cameras on 24-hour inspection at the relevant facilities and given that no deviation from peaceful path has ever been reported by the agency, a few states themselves having access to nuclear energy and weapons express their anxiety over Iran's deviation.

"This is while they intend to question our interests by imposing their own tyrannical legal system upon the world, but in response, we dismiss their discriminatory and oppressive system," he added.

Ahmadinejad referred to more than five million Palestinians who have become homeless over the past 60 years and urged the need to stop the Zionist regime's genocide in the occupied lands.

The president voiced Iran's opposition to bloodshed and killing people irrespective of their being Muslims, Jews, Christians or followers of any other religion and asked, "We are curious to know why out of dozens of millions of victims of the World War II, just the loss of lives of the six million people whose genocide has not yet been verified is of importance."
He added given that Europeans feel themselves responsible for holocaust, they should do something about it.

Elsewhere in his interview, the president underlined the view of the German reporter about the US failure in Iraq and said that Iran seeks security, tranquility and welfare of the Iraqi people.

"We are upset to witness the loss of human lives in Iraq, even that of the US troops. Therefore, we are prepared to discuss Iraq's security, provided the US changes its approach and stops insulting the Iranian nation," he added.
