Tehran, May 7, IRNA
Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said on Sunday that nuclear weapons have no room in Iran's defense doctrine.
Addressing a group of defense industry officials and experts, the minister added that the main defensive activities of Iran are based on conventional weapons.
"The main goal behind the US adventurism in connection with Iran's nuclear case is to help the Zionist regime dominate the Middle East region and tighten its own grip on Europe and the world.
"Vigilance of governments and awareness of nations will prevent materialization of US plots," he said.
Najjar added, "The United States is against the progress and development of Iran. It has endangered freedom, independence, tranquility and security of the Iranian nation over the past 50 years through its colonial policies.
"Today, the world hates crisis, war and bloodshed more than ever before. Governments and nations detest US warmongering policies," he said.
"US tricks, threats and unusual pressures on the United Nations Security Council to force it to impose sanctions and conduct military action (against Iran), showed the warmongering nature of the US leaders," the minister stressed.
