Larijani: Iran ready to continue cooperation with IAEA

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, April 29, IRNA
Iran-Unclear-ElBaradei
Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani sent a letter here Saturday to Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohamed ElBaradei.

In the letter, Larijani said if Iran's nuclear dossier remains within the IAEA and under its Safeguards Agreement, the country is ready to help resolve the remaining issues within the framework of the latest comprehensive report provided by the IAEA director general dated March 2006.

The letter, a copy of which was made available to IRNA, said the Islamic Republic of Iran in the past three years has had full-scale cooperation with the IAEA in line with the Safeguards Agreement of the International Atomic Energy Agency and has voluntarily implemented additional protocol to Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and even beyond it.

During the past three years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has fully cooperated with IAEA inspectors and provided them with all required facilities for over two thousand hours of inspections from the country's nuclear sites.

"The IAEA has supervised all our activities and installations and the country's nuclear materials have all been declared to the IAEA," he said.

Tehran still remains committed to its obligations to the Additional Protocol to Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), said the letter adding that this should be taken into consideration that the country is fully ready for continued inspections of IAEA under its Safeguards Agreements.
