The meeting on Iran's nuclear issue, which opened at the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Headquarters Wednesday afternoon, is being attended by Vice President and Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) Gholam-Reza Aghazadeh.
Some technical aspects of Iran's nuclear activities are on the agenda of the ongoing session, which is also attended by a deputy of the IAEA chief on the agency's affairs related to the Additional Protocol, Olli Heinonen.
According to diplomatic sources in Vienna, this is merely a technical meeting following the recent talks between the IAEA Chief Mohamed ElBaradei and Iranian officials in Tehran.
It is said that according to the agreement reached between the two sides, during ElBaradei's visit to Iran, a number of documents within the framework of Iran-IAEA cooperation were to be evaluated and discussed.
ElBaradei visited Tehran on April 13, where he announced the UN agency's decision to solve Iran's nuclear case through political means.
The meeting is also being attended by deputy head of IAEO for international affairs, Mohammad Saeedi and Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the Vienna-based international bodies, Ali-Asghar Soltanieh.
