A major part of ElBaradei's imminent report on Iran would stress Tehran's cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog, if the IAEA chief could be free from US mounting pressures while preparing the report, said an Iranian parliamentarian here Wednesday.

Head of Iran's Majlis Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi is currently in London upon an invitation of the British parliament.

He was referring to a report which is to be submitted to the UN Security Council on Friday by Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohamed ElBaradei on whether Tehran has complied with the council's demands to halt its uranium enrichment activities.

Speaking to reporters, Boroujerdi complained that ElBaradei and the IAEA were under intensive pressures (by US) as "Iran's civilian nuclear programs are viewed through a political perspective," he said.

Referring to the cases of the Non-Proliferation Treaty's (NPT) violations by Western states who equipped the Zionist regime of Israel with nuclear technology, Boroujerdi said "It was part of the IAEA's responsibility to examine such an important issue."
Boroujerdi added that those countries possessing nuclear technology were naturally prime suspects of such violations.
