MOSCOW, April 21 (RIA Novosti) - Restored confidence in Iran's controversial nuclear program will allow Tehran to develop civilian nuclear power, a deputy foreign minister of Russia said Friday.
Sergei Kislyak said the Islamic Republic should cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN's nuclear watchdog, to end the crisis around its nuclear ambitions.
"The easiest way [for Iran] is to implement IAEA decisions, suspend all uranium enrichment activities at the national level for a certain period, cooperate with the IAEA to clarify Iran's previous nuclear activities and restore trust in its [Tehran's] nuclear activities," Kislyak told an international global security conference in Moscow.
Russia says there is still a chance to find a peaceful solution to the stand-off over Iran's nuclear programs, which the United States and some European countries suspect are aimed at developing nuclear weapons.
