First Vice-President Parviz Davoudi said here Monday that Iran's measures to obtain access to nuclear energy were based on international regulations, stressing Western states should accept such right.
Davoudi made the remark in a meeting with a member of Political Bureau of Communist Party of China, Wang Lequan.
"Peaceful nuclear energy is a demand of all Iranians. The Iranian government takes steps to materialize people's demands," he said.
He stressed the importance of boosting ties between Iran and China, saying, "Bilateral relations should not be limited to economic domain but should be further expanded in political and cultural areas."
Wang, for his part, said Iran's nuclear case should be settled through diplomatic channels.
He added China understands Iran's stance on access to nuclear energy.
Pointing to growing trend of ties between the two sides in all fields, he said Tehran and Beijing have fulfilled their commitments.
The two countries enjoy good opportunity for further boosting of economic and trade ties.
