Iran's Ambassador to Moscow Gholam-Reza Ansari said here Wednesday, "Iran has no program to produce nuclear weapons and these weapons have no place in Iran's defense doctrine." In an interview with Russian 'Channel one' TV, Ansari said, "Having nuclear weapons is against Iran's national security and it can cause insecurity for Iran."
He emphasized, "We are going to continue our full and close cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to remove any kind of ambiguity and to create confidence until Iran's dossier returns back to its normal and real course in the framework of IAEA.'
Iran's envoy to Russia said, "Iran insists on its legitimate and lawful right to have nuclear fuel production cycle and we believe IAEA stand and responsibility for member states should be revived.' Quoting President Ahmadinejad, Ansari said, Iran is ready to let other countries take part in its own nuclear projects.
Concerning some Western powers' reaction to Iran's progress toward peaceful nuclear program, Ansari said, these powers are to divert public opinion from crisis caused by their own mistakes in Iraq and are trying to create a new crisis to justify their failures.
