Iran will continue with its peaceful nuclear activities with well-calculated steps and in a fully transparent manner within the NPT framework, said Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's special envoy Mohammad-Javad Ardeshir Larijani in Beijing on Wednesday.

"It is a national decision and any concern about Iran's possible use of nuclear technology for military purposes can be relieved," said Larijani in an speech to a group of researchers and thinkers at Chinese research institutions.

He said certain European states, led by the US, are using lack of confidence as an excuse to deprive Iran of peaceful nuclear technology.

While continuing its efforts towards confidence building, Iran sees no justification to give up its national project, he added.

"We believe there is sensitivity to Iran's nuclear program and the best solution to the problem is dialogue through the International Atomic Energy Agency," Larijani maintained.

However, he said, Iran has got prepared to encounter different conditions.

He said human rights issue is being misused more or less depending on Washington's relations with other countries.

Larijani said Western liberal culture should not be the only basis for human rights but rather there should be a balance between it and cultures of other nations.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani said, "From my point of view, a large portion of Iraq unrest are taking place with knowledge and support of the US."
