President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday Iran would never abandon the path it has chosen.
The president made the remark while addressing a large crowd of local residents of provincial capital city of Gorgan on the first day of his two-day tour of the northern province of Golestan, as his ninth provincial tour since he assumed office.
"The Iranian youth have acquired technology of nuclear fuel production. The Iranian nation cannot be deprived of this technology," he said.
He added, "The enemies should be confident they cannot stop the Iranian nation on its path, not can they deprive the Iranians of their legal right through conspiracies and political pressures from outside the country or by adopting resolution against the nation.
"Enemies of the Iranians are against the nation's access to nuclear energy because they cannot accept the Iranian nation's success in mastering science and technology by relying on their own capabilities and without their support."
He pointed to claims by certain Western officials that efforts to obtain nuclear technology are being made just upon the president's demand, stressing, "Access to peaceful nuclear technology is a demand of the Iranian nation."
Ahmadinejad added, "A government, which was established based on the nation's resolve, will continue its path wisely to reach its final goal."
