The European Union Thursday categorically dismissed any notion of a military action to resolve Iran's nuclear issue.

"We want to solve this through diplomacy. There is no military option and we are not considering any military option," Cristina Gallach, spokesperson for EU High Representative for a common foreign and security policy, Javier Solana, told IRNA in Brussels Thursday.

"We will now see what the Security Council will do," she said referring to the decision by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Wednesday to transfer Iran's nuclear dossier to the UNSC.

Gallach said that Iran should follow what the SC has to say.

Meanwhile, EU foreign ministers will discuss Iran in their informal meeting in Salzburg, Austria, on Friday.

Austria currently holds the rotating EU Presidency.
