Iran-US-Agreement
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said here Tuesday that recent propaganda campaign along with allegations made by a number of American officials explicitly indicate that Washington is against any agreement between Iran and other negotiators.
According to the Information and Press Bureau of the Foreign Ministry, Asefi said "Whenever the Americans feel there may be any chance for agreement between Iran, IAEA, Russia or other countries, they try to destroy it."
The Americans are trying in vain to hamper Iran's development and progress while depicting a weak image of the country to the Europeans, he said.
There is no doubt that the Americans seek to perpetuate their economic supremacy in the world, he underlined.
Refuting the US propaganda on Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, he underlined that the US policy is based on unilateralism and weakening international organizations.
It is the duty of the IAEA Board of Governors to safeguard its dignity in a bid to avoid facing the fate of certain other international organizations, he said.
Spreading gossips and making other countries worried about Iran by a country (the US) which has a black record of misusing nuclear science and technology and whose officials are symbols of telling lies, are totally ridiculous and unfounded, he said.
While a move has been launched by countries to build the second generation of nuclear reactors and the decisive role of nuclear energy in expediting economic development of countries has become more evident than before, politicizing the demands of the countries seeking access to peaceful nuclear energy is unacceptable.
The Islamic Republic of Iran under no circumstances will give up its legitimate rights and like other countries will defend such rights, he said.
