The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) board of governors started its seasonal session in Vienna on Monday with Iran's nuclear program being one of its main topics.
International cooperation on nuclear security, transportation, management of nuclear waste, security of depots, nuclear security as mentioned in 2005 report, nuclear technology in 2006, personnel issues and the safeguards will cover the agenda of talks.
The 11-page report by the IAEA Governor General Mohamed ElBaradei on Iran's nuclear activities, presented to 35 members of the IAEA board of governors, will be reviewed during the three-day meeting.
ElBaradei's report will be probably discussed either on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning.
In his report to the UN Security Council, ElBaradei referred to Iran's cooperation with the agency but emphasized that some questions on Iran's nuclear programs still remain unanswered.
He approved of Iran's views that the nuclear contamination in the country had a foreign source adding that the agency witnessed no unconventional activities in Iran's nuclear sites or other places inspected by the agency.
All declared nuclear substances in Iran have been thoroughly inspected by the agency and no deviation towards nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosives has been witnessed, ElBaradei's report stressed.
The report also underlined the need for more transparent and confidence-building measures by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Out of the 35 members of the IAEA board of governors, 16 are members to the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
NAM members have recently reached an agreement on issuing a statement in support of Iran's nuclear activities.
In their 12-article statement, the NAM member states reiterated that reviewing Iran's nuclear case must remain within the framework of the agency.
