The Islamic Republic of Iran would exercise patience and leave behind the current period which is the outcome of the anger over Iran's independent approach to international affairs, Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani said on Sunday.

He told reporters that Iranian nation are honest and Iran never wants to harm others, instead, they are the others who have come from elsewhere and are posing threat to regional nations.

"They mobilized their forces under command of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to strike a blow to Iran, but, they could not." He said that Iran is looking for an internationally-accepted formula to serve national interest and at the same time, Iran is keen on international relations.

"Iran welcomes dialogue with any other states. I wrote a letter to the three European states inviting them to resume talks, but, they cancelled it. They had thought that Iran would no longer resume talks with them," Larijani said.

"I think if the Europeans had not cancelLED the talks, we would have reached an appropriate formula with them," Larijani said.

"Certain states were explicitly saying that Iran should not possess nuclear know-how. It is not acceptable to say so about the great nation of Iran," he said.

He said that Iran always is ready to resume talks with the EU and is also ready to develop cooperation with developing nations in the context of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) including China. The way for negotiations is open, he said.

Iran has achieved three groundbreaking successes ranging from (1) uranium mine, to (2) yellow-cake and UF6 and (3) the research studies.

"It is a matter of national honor that Iran is capable of converting uranium ore to yellow-cake."
