Iran-EU3 nuclear talks resumed in Vienna

Iran and the European Union troika started another round of nuclear talks in Vienna, Austria, on Friday, news sources said on Friday.

Before this round of Iran-EU3 talks, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani paid a two-day visit to Moscow at the head of a high-ranking delegation and held nuclear talks with Russian officials including Head of Russia's Security Council, Igor Ivanov.

Larijani and Ivanov discussed bilateral nuclear cooperation as well as Moscow's nuclear proposal for Iran on a jointly uranium enrichment project inside Russia's territory.

Negotiations between Iran and foreign ministers of the EU troika (Germany, France and Britain) is resumed upon a request by Tehran before an upcoming session of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), to be held on March 6.

A press conference is scheduled to be held after the Iran-EU3 talks.

Larijani, addressing a press conference at Iran's embassy at Moscow on Thursday, said, "We are ready to hold talks with the European states within frameworks of international regulations and the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)."
The IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei, in a statement, welcomed continuation of nuclear talks between Iran and the three European states.

ElBaradei called on all sides to benefit from the opportunity available to return to the negotiation table.

He also called on Iran to remove concerning issues over its nuclear activities in a transparent framework and through cooperation with the IAEA.
