Iran-Ahmadinejad-Nuclear
Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Wednesday that peaceful nuclear activities is Iran's legitimate right and it will not suspend its program through intimidation.
Speaking to large gathering of Iranians, Ahmadinejad, who arrived in Malaysia for a state visit, said that Iran's nuclear facilities are monitored around the clock through cameras, sampling and snap spections and there has not been even one infringement from peaceful activities.
"But, now, they say that Iran should not have access to such activities and this is a logic of intimidation."
"If nuclear program is bad why some countries have it" he asked.
"When they do not have answers, they voice concern over Iran and this is not logic any more, is intimidation," he retorted.
He said that Iranian nation regards access to nuclear technology as its national interest and will remain steadfast in this policy.
He further said that some nations are only interested in monopolizing all the valuable resources including knowledge and research.
"Some have tried to prevent Iran to tread the path of progress and development in the past 27 years," he added.
President Ahmadinejad left here for Kuala Lumpur Wednesday morning for an official three-day visit.
Ahmadinejad, heading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation, was seen off at Tehran's Mehrabad International Airport by the head of the Supreme Leader's Office, Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammadi Golpaygani, First Vice-President Parviz Davoudi and a number of ministers.
Talking to reporters, the president said his trip to Malaysia was aimed at discussing bilateral, regional and international developments.
"Iran and Malaysia enjoy broad ties and great, common viewpoints on regional and international issues and share several common interests.
The president, moreover, said that his visit was taking place at the invitation of the Malaysian Sultan and prime minister, adding that "Tehran and Kuala Lumpur have had good cooperation in the economic, industrial, transport, telecommunications, oil and gas fields."
Ahmadinejad disclosed that the two sides will be signing several agreements for expansion of cooperation in the field of economy and other areas during this visit.
