Iran-IAEA-Report
A Western diplomat at International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said on Wednesday that the draft report of IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei can be described as both 'positive' and 'negative'.
He told IRNA that the report due to be delivered to IAEA Board of Governors on March 6 has nothing new in its context and is repetition of ElBaradei's former statement on Iran.
"The text of the draft report made available to diplomats is revised version of the former reports," he said on condition of anonymity.
Elaborating on the positive points of the report, he said Iranian cooperation with inspectors of the agency's Safeguards Agreement accounts for the positive aspect while the phrase that the Agency has still questions to be answered accounts for the negative aspect of ElBaradei's report.
He said that moratorium on nuclear enrichment would be a major step forward to win confidence of the international community.
He said that the future negotiations would recognize Iran's right to have low level enrichment.
Meanwhile, Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) spokesman Hossein Entezami said in Tehran on Tuesday that despite unsealing Natanz uranium enrichment plant by IAEA inspectors, no uranium enrichment has been carried out and the moratorium is still effective in line with Iranian confidence building action.
