Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday hoped that an agreement will be reached with Iran on its nuclear program.

According to a report released by RIA Novosti News Agency, he expressed confidence that it is possible to reach an agreement that will prevent violation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Speaking to reporters in Hungary, where he is currently on a working visit, Lavrov said that to reach such an agreement, Iran should return to suspension of its uranium enrichment and accept Russia's proposal on joint venture for enrichment in the Russian territory, which is supported by the IAEA Board of Governors.

Turning to the third round of Iran-Russia talks in Moscow this afternoon, he hoped that they will be constructive and that the Iranian partners will assess the issue while feeling themselves responsible.

The Russian minister maintained that Iran's nuclear dossier should be examined and settled within the IAEA framework.

"We have to do our best to succeed and pave the way for resumption of inspection of the country's nuclear installations by the UN nuclear watchdog inspectors. Meanwhile, Iran should return to suspension of its enrichment process.

"During Moscow talks, we will brief the Iranian negotiators on the advantages of such a measure and implementation of the Additional Protocol, which has not yet been approved," he added.

Lavrov noted that the Iranian experts will be informed that Iran's required nuclear fuel will be supplied by the joint enrichment venture in the Russian territory.

Larijani and his entourage arrived in Moscow on Wednesday to hold another round of nuclear talks with Russian officials. He is scheduled to confer with his Russian counterpart, Igor Ivanov this afternoon.
