Iran's nuclear program is completely peaceful and hundreds of the International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors have in their visits to Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities found no evidence to substantiate that the program is military.
Press attache to Iran's Embassy in Kuwait Majid Kiani told ar-Ra'i al-'Aam daily that peaceful use of nuclear technology has strong public support in Iran and Tehran's goal in acquiring this kind of energy is to generate electricity as well as use nuclear technology for agricultural and medical purposes.
On concerns raised by certain sections of the Kuwaiti press over leakage of radioactive substances from Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities, Kiani said the facilities are equipped with most sophisticated safety devices and IAEA inspectors have confirmed they too match global standards.
The diplomat said likely sanctions on Iran will have the least effect rather they will lead to further national scientific and industrial achievements.
He said that Europe's main reason for stopping nuclear talks with Iran is succumbing to US pressures.
"To build trust in its peaceful nuclear program, Iran has exercised extraordinary cooperation with the IAEA over the past three years but to no avail. Hence Iranian officials have decided to end voluntary suspension of its peaceful nuclear activities," said Kiani.
