Bomb explodes in Ahvaz, no injuries

A relatively strong bomb exploded in the southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz, Khuzestan province, Sunday evening, sending panic-stricken people to the streets.
The explosion took place at 21:45 hours local time (18:15 GMT) in the northwestern sector of Ahvaz, a security official told IRNA.
He said that windows of adjacent buildings were shattered but fortunately no one was injured.
No other details of the explosion were available as of this report.
Over the past months Ahvaz, capital of oil-rich Khuzestan, has been scene of several explosions. In January 24 twin blasts hit a bank and a government building leaving six people dead and dozens injured.
