Iran-Vaeidi-Counteraction
Deputy head of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) for international affairs, Javad Vaeidi, said here Sunday that Iran avoids obstinacy and adventurism and does not intend to pursue confrontation, adding that at the same time it will not agree to suspend fuel production activities.

Speaking to domestic and foreign reporters, he said the Islamic Republic of Iran also calls on the opposite party to shun adventurism and confrontation.

"We will start holding talks to stop the possibility of confrontation and prepare suitable grounds. Then we will proceed to seek an effective formula to safeguard our nuclear right," he added.

He stressed that Iran has not suspended its nuclear fuel production and will not surrender its rights to others.

"We have repeatedly announced that we do not welcome being reported to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), but unfortunately, the West believes that this is rooted in Iran's weakness.

"Expectation of the West for complete suspension of fuel cycle is a humiliation and national dependence. Given that such a strategy is humiliating, it is quite normal for us to reject it," added Vaeidi.
