Asefi urges observation of diplomatic limits

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Feb 12, IRNA
Iran-Asefi-Remark
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi said here Sunday that limits of diplomatic places should be observed and no damages should be inflicted on them.

Asefi made the remark while talking to reporters as he was commenting on attacks on embassies.

"We have no special concerns in this regard. We have no doubt about the Iranian nation's wisdom but expect some events to take place due to agitation.

"We urge the nation not to take any measure which might be misused by enemies," he said.

He expressed his hatred towards insult of certain European dailies to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), saying, "Freedom carries responsibility but some showed they are not responsible.

"Violating the sanctity of Prophet Mohammad is not justifiable by any logic. Sanctity of prophets must be observed," he reiterated.

Asked whether the Danish ambassador to Iran will return to Tehran, he said, "The Danish embassy, in a note, said it is a temporary change and stressed that the ambassador will return." To a question about construction of a 400-meter underground tunnel, Asefi said, "These are a series of absurd reports raised usually on threshold of the IAEA Board meeting and certain other meetings. These are unfounded and absurd reports."
