Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi on Sunday reiterated Iran's policy to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, quoting Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as stressing such a right.

"The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the opposite sides should not close doors to Iran. They should settle the case through talks and within the frameworks of regulations," Asefi told domestic and foreign reporters at his weekly press briefing.

Asked about the time of uranium enrichment resumption, he said, "We briefed the IAEA (on the time). Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) sent a letter to the IAEA.

"All necessary measures should be adopted. When technical steps are taken, authorized resources will give necessary information." Asefi added, "The IAEA inspectors came to Iran on Saturday for ordinary works. They are here in continuation of their previous mission.

"They usually visit Iran. Their recent visit was within the frameworks of their routine duties."
