Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi here Monday condemned the recent decision forced by western states in the case of Iran's peaceful nuclear technology.
"The move the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) Board of Governors took in that connection marks a dark stain for international organizations," said Shahroudi in a meeting with the judiciary officials.
Shahroudi said that from the very beginning their plan was based on not allowing any Islamic country, particularly the Islamic Republic, to have peaceful nuclear technology.
He said it is the natural right of Iran to benefit from nuclear energy for scientific and technological purposes.
"Iranian people and officials have never been after nuclear bomb and nuclear weapons and the world nations have also become aware that the era of technological colonialism is over," said Shahroudi.
He said, "Our people have not been after conflict but the world should know that they will withstand any conspiracy."
The Muslim and vigilant people in Islamic Iran will resist western plots and Zionists' conspiracies whenever necessary and consider confrontation against the plots as a duty, said the top judge.
In the nuclear case the Islamic Republic of Iran has had sufficient cooperation with the IAEA but the actions of the IAEA and its Board of Governors would mark a stain for them that will not be easily forgotten, continued Shahroudi.
He also condemned the publication of the blasphemous cartoons in the Danish press, saying Zionists are in efforts to desecrate Islamic sanctities and this has incited the sentiments of Muslims worldwide.
"This unforgivable insult stems from blasphemy to all the divine messengers and global Zionism has been on the frontline of the move," he added.
