The Iranian nation is ready to demonstrate their strong will to access nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, said an MP here Monday.
The IAEA Board of Governors' vote against Iran occurring almost simultaneously with the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution clearly points to the fact that western governments cannot tolerate the Islamic system, MP Mussa Qorbani told IRNA.
The International Atomic Energy Agency's Board of Governors on Saturday voted to report Iran's nuclear dossier to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
"The Board of Governors' resolution proved that the members were influenced by western politicians and did not perform their duties, which they placed in the hands of powerful politicians."
Although the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) made a mockery of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) with the resolution it passed against Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to resist all pressures, he noted.
Countries opposed to Iran's nuclear programs blatantly overlooked the chemical and nuclear weapons or arsenals of some countries and effectively sold their votes on the Iran nuclear issue which is an injustice committed to a legitimate member, said the lawmaker.
Of the 35 member states of the IAEA Board of Governors, 27 voted for the resolution, five abstained and three voted against.
He stressed that the Iranian president took the wise decision of ordering resumption of the country's uranium enrichment as he knew all negotiations with the West were aimed at killing time.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in a letter to the head of the Iran Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO), ordered immediate resumption of nuclear enrichment activities and repudiation of the Additional Protocol to the NPT.
In a statement issued on Sunday, President Ahmadinejad also called on the nation to defend Iran's nuclear programs.
On the anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, he urged the nation to shout to the world their nuclear right which, he said, "is no less as important as the cries of Iranians prior to the revolution for nationalization of the country's oil and thereby pierce the ears of the imperialists who would refuse this right to the Iranian nation."
