Iranian nation not to surrender to pressures: Majlis speaker

Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel said here Saturday the Iranian nation will not surrender to pressures imposed on the country by certain powers on its nuclear programs.

"Iran's progress in the fields of nuclear technology has been turned into a pretext for certain powers to impose pressures on the Iranian nation.

"Certain powers such as the United States which have been opposing the Islamic Revolution since the very beginning are now using this issue as a pretext to put pressure on the Iranian nation, but the Islamic Revolution will cut their hands" (as it did in the past), he said while addressing a national educational and research seminar.

But the Iranian nation has decided "not to surrender to such pressures and aggression," Haddad-Adel defiantly said.

The Majlis speaker, who talked to reporters on the sidelines of the seminar and was asked about Iran's possible action towards the looming negative decision of the International Atomic Energy Agency on Iran's nuclear case, said, "Let us first wait for the results...We are waiting to see the results of the (IAEA) Governing Board's meeting."
"Majlis believes the law mandating implementation of the country's nuclear programs should be enforced. We will review it after the IAEA decision. But we should (first) see what decisions the agency will take.

"Majlis will insist on its ratification. We cannot predict the IAEA decision," the speaker said.
