Ahmadinejad: Few strongly armed countries after imposing scientific apartheid

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Bushehr, Jan 3, IRNA
Iran-Ahmadinejad-Nuclear
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad reacting to stands adopted by Western countries on Iran's nuclear program said here Friday, "A few countries that are armed with various types of weapons are after imposing a kind of scientific apartheid and nuclear monopoly in the world.

Speaking at a press conference, the President added, "Iran's stands on its peaceful nuclear activities are quite clear and they are within the framework of international rules and regulations, therefore, in order to secure our natural rights we are ready to pave this path to its very end."
Labeling the stands of those countries that claim Iran does not need research works in nuclear field as "arrogant", he said, "They are even ready say you do not need universities and academic research works."
Ahmadinejad stressed that in today's world no nation would yield to such arrogant demands, adding, "I feel sorry for those who ruin the reputation of international institutes with their deeds." He reiterated, "They dictate their policies to those institutes from a domineering position, assuming that the Middle Ages' relations are still valid, but they had better wake up from that long sleep, because otherwise the severe blow of the world nations on their faces would wake them up."
The President said, "These countries ignore the existence of nuclear arsenals in forged countries in our vicinity and at the same time create problems in the way of our peaceful nuclear technology." Stressing that Iran has no need to have access to nuclear weapons, Ahmadinejad reminded the West, "In various reports of the IAEA there has not been even a single case of deviation of our nuclear programs from their peaceful path, and that is while IAEA has had the most severe inspections in its history in Iran in past few years." Pointing out that the Western countries claim "that forged country (Israel)" is not an IAEA member and therefore the UN nuclear watchdog cannot supervise its activities, he said, "They express concern over our activities under such conditions that they confess Iran has not breached any terms and conditions of its international commitments, and yet are not concerned at all about nuclear arsenals of that country."
Addressing those Western countries that create obstacles in the way of iran's advancement and scientific progress, the president said, "You have imposed your reign throughout the world, resorting to telling lies and erroneous propagation for many years and now you cannot tolerate Iran, because it has violated that virtual atmosphere."
He reiterated, "Under such conditions that we neither trust those countries, nor are willing to hold talks with them, they say it is them that can no more trust us!"
Ahmadinejad added, "Their demand for halting the progress of Iran toward advancement is among the funniest things we have ever heard, and it is them that need to gain our trust now, not the other way round."
He reiterated, "Some countries have assumed they would gain some benefits out of this affair, but they had better realize they would definitely gain nothing at all."
Considering the current era "very sensitive" for the international organizations and the global community, the Iranian President said, "We hope these organizations would pass the tough test of abiding by the laws prestigiously."
Thanking Iran's friends at the international community, particularly the Non Aligned Movement (NAM) countries, that defend Iran's right to have access to the nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, he said, "The hegemonic powers assume if they would manage to block Iran's path, they would also succeed in blocking the other nations' path."
Pointing out that our nation would pave its path resolutely and that the hegemonic powers, too, are well aware of our power, he eiterated, "This technology is not an instrument of which you would manage to deprive a nation. It is a thought, and you know you cannot block the path for thinking."
The president at the end pointed out the hegemonic countries' habit of raising hue and cry in order to push forth their illegitimate demands, reiterating, "We are opposed to chaotic conditions and tension, but their threats, too, would lead nowhere."
