Iran-Larijani-China
Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani here Thursday criticized the United States' behavior.
The visiting official, who talked to a CNN reporter, added the criticism of China due to its support for Iran on account of Beijing's energy demand is the outcome of the United States' bullying.
"Neither Iran nor China has violated the law," he said.
"Iran is a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and a signatory of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)," said the SNSC secretary concluding, "Therefore, we have to enjoy our (absolute) rights.
"Iran has resumed its nuclear research at a very limited scale and the IAEA inspectors are supervising the process."
Larijani said the main question is whether the hue and cry by the US and some of its allies is logical.
Asked about lack of confidence between the parties of nuclear talks, the ranking official said, "Iran has held negotiations with Europe for two and a half years and has voluntarily suspended its nuclear activities, but we got no result. Now we have no confidence." Concerning Iran's reaction to the US measures, he noted, "Tehran has a scenario for every single part. If they adopt a peaceful approach, we could remove the misunderstandings. However, if they have illogical behavior, we will treat in a different way."
In his response to question about a military attack on Iran, Larijani warned that the option would give the US a lot of trouble.
"We respect the American people and and I believe they reserve the right to know why the US Administration causes them such problems.
"We, due to such attitudes, have been subject to injustice and (therefore) we must resist and defend ourselves."
