Rapporteur of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Kazem Jalali said here Wednesday that the Russian proposal to enrich uranium in its soil for Iran has many ambiguities.
Speaking to reporters, he said accepting or rejecting the proposals calls for a series of talks with Russia.
It is necessary to hold several meetings to reach a conclusion on the proposal put forward by Russia, he said.
If the Russian proposal means collaboration, it could be studied but in case it tries to ignore Iran's legitimate right to peaceful application of nuclear technology, there is no room for studying it, he said.
Negotiations with Russia should be on a full-scale basis to take various dimensions into account, he pointed out.
"The upcoming meeting of IAEA board of governors on February 2 is very detrimental for us that is why we attach importance to our mutual negotiations with Russia in mid-February on the issue which might result in a much more crystal clear decision," he said.
"If America and European countries forward Iran's nuclear dossier to the UN Security Council, it does not imply that the global consensus has formed against us but rather, the consensus has been made with some of the world countries such as Russia, China as well as countries of Non-Aligned Movement," he said.
On the formation of a team of experts to follow up Iran's nuclear dossier, he said this is a crucial issue and the country's high ranking officials should make decision on it.
