Iran-Nuclear-Russia
Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said here Friday that the developments in Iran's nuclear programs have no impact upon implementation of the contract on sale of Tor M1 air defense missiles to Iran.
Speaking to reporters, he added that the agreement has nothing to do with Iran's nuclear case.
He underlined that the delivery of the air missiles to Iran is in full accordance with the international laws and criteria.
Ivanov noted that the relevant air missiles are of the short-range type and cannot be used to hit ground targets.
The one-billion-dollar agreement on 29 sets of Tor M1 air missiles was signed between Iran and Russia in late 2005.
The Russian minister dismissed the news released by some Russian media about the negotiations between the two countries on sale of S-300 air missile to Iran.
Ivanov noted that such information is not true and denied the visit of any Russian military delegation to Tehran.
