Iran-Suspension-Russia
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mikhail Kamynin here Friday called upon Iran to revise its decision about suspension of nuclear research.
Speaking to the media, he called for Iran's full and transparent cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in accordance with the resolutions of the IAEA Board of Governors.
In response to a question about the statement issued by the EU trio (Britain, France and Germany) about the resumption of scientific research on uranium enrichment in Iran, he expressed understanding with the disappointment of Iran's European partners to Iran's reaction to this effect.
"We believe that continued suspension of all enrichment related affairs such as research and scientific studies in the field is a confidence building measure towards settling the nuclear issue.
"The UN watchdog Governing Board, which has repeatedly called upon Iran to continue such suspension, has a similar outlook," added the Russian spokesman.
Kamynin said that Russia will continue discussing the issue with the EU trio and other concerned parties to come up with proper solutions for resolving Iran's nuclear problem through political ways.
