Iran, EU to hold nuclear talks in two stages in Vienna - diplomat

Iranian delegates will hold negotiations on Iranian nuclear program with representatives of European states, France, Britain and Germany, in two stages on Wednesday.
A Vienna-based Iranian diplomat told IRNA that one round of talks will be held at the French Embassy in Vienna and the second round will be held at Iranian representation at International Center in Vienna on Wednesday.
Iranian delegates to the one-day negotiations with EU representatives will be led by deputy secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Javad Vaidi.
He said that Iranian delegates will put forward a new proposal to the European partners.
Asked to comment on the new proposal, he said, "We should wait and see. What is important is that negotiations are going to resume." European delegates include 12 members comprising of directors of French, British and German foreign ministries.
EU Foreign Policy chief Javier Solana's spokeswoman Christina Galach said in Brussels that directors for political affairs of foreign ministries of France, Britain and Germany will take part in negotiations with Iran in Vienna.
A western diplomat said in Vienna that Iran and EU will determine in their introductory negotiations in Vienna whether or not they would hold talks in January and that Wednesday meeting will be 'Talks for Talks'.
"Due to what has happened in the past several months, Iranian and European negotiators will assess each other's approach."
Deputy director of Iran Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) Mohammad Saeedi is also a member of the Iranian team.
