Motion tabled at Majlis to impeach defense minister

The Majlis Presiding Board here Tuesday announced a motion has been tabled in the parliament to impeach Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar.
The impeachment call was submitted to Majlis on Sunday open session but was opposed on the grounds that there were not yet enough proof and evidence about the C130 plane crash in southern Tehran on December 6.
Some 50 parliament members have signed the motion.
A Lockheed C130 Hercules transport workhorse, said to have technical problems, crashed into a 10-storey residential building in Towhid Township south of Tehran on Tuesday December 6 shortly after takeoff, resulting in martyrdom of all crew and 94 passengers, mostly journalists, aboard and 12 people at the site of the crash.
The journalists were heading to Chabahar to cover an Army wargame.
