Majlis Speaker: Peaceful nuclear cooperation with Russia continues

Islamic Consultative Assembly, Majlis, Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel said here Monday in a press conference, "There is no difference of opinion between Iran and Russia on Tehran's peaceful nuclear programs and bilateral cooperation in that field would continue."
Reflecting on outcome of his talks with Secretary of Russia's National Security Council Igor Ivanov, Haddad considered the negotiations as "Constructive and comprehensive."
Russian Duma representative and head of Iran-Russia Friendship Group Yuri Saviliev, too, focussing on Iranian Majlis Speaker's visit to Russia, said, "The Russian Duma considers this visit a new page in the history of the two countries' parliamentary relations." He added, "All factions within the Duma support nuclear cooperation between Tehran and Moscow."
The Russian head of the two countries parliamentary friendship group reiterated, "Duma is glad over the existence of good cooperation between the two governments despite the US pressure."
He considered the two countries' cooperation in nuclear, defensive, economic, cultural and commercial fields in line with mutual interests of both countries, as well as regional peace and stability, arguing, "Opponents of improving our comprehensive cooperation are common enemies of Iran and Russia."
Iranian Majlis Speaker Gholam-ali Haddad Adel arrived in Moscow on an official three day visit on Monday morning.
He met and conferred with the Russian Duma Speaker and the leader of the Catholic Church of Russia on Monday.
Haddad who is in Russia on an invitation extended by Russian Duma Speaker Boris Cryzlov is also scheduled to have a meeting with the Head of the Russian Federation Council Sergei Mironov and the Head of Russian Mufties Council Ravil Elieddin.
Meanwhile, Iranian co-chairman of Iran-Russia Parliamentary Friendship Group Kazem Jalali and his Russian counterpart Yuri Savylyev discussed ways of boosting parliamentary cooperation.
Negotiations between the speakers of Iranian Majlis and Russian State Duma were held behind closed doors.
