Construction of 360mw nuclear power plant starts: IAEO head

Construction of a 360mw nuclear power plant using domestic-made fueld started in southwestern Khuzestan province on Saturday.
The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Agency Organization (IAEA), Gholam-Reza Aqazadeh, made the disclosure while talking to reporters.
"All components of the power plant will be constructed in Darkhoein city in Khuzestan province by Iranian experts who are highly qualified.
"Materialization of the plant will count on the experience gained by the Islamic Republic from the construction of a 40mw research reactor in (the central city of) Arak," he said.
He said construction of the power plant has the approval of the cabinet, adding that funds for the purpose has been appropriated and and released.
"Construction of a nuclear power plant having the designated capacity will naturally demand seven years of work."
"The Islamic Republic has no doubt the will to produce nuclear fuel inside the country.
"Issues raised with respect to the Natanz facility are politically motivated. We should have the capacity for enrichment in future nuclear activities.
"Iran has not resumed enrichment activities in Natanz and gas injection operation and enrichment will not be taken up during (future nuclear) negotiations," the IAEO head declared.
