IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Vienna, Nov 18, IRNA
ElBaradei-Report-Iran
A new report of Director-General of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohamed ElBaradei was published on Friday afternoon and disseminated among representatives of 35 member countries of the agency's Board of Governors here.

The diplomats in Vienna, who have seen the report, said it has in general a positive view on Iran's cooperation with IAEA but has requested more assistance on the side of Iran to solve remaining ambiguities in the dossier.

A diplomat in Vienna told IRNA ElBaradei in his report has declared that many of remaining ambiguities concerning "P-1" and "P-2" have been resolved.

In the report, ElBaradei appreciated Iran's cooperation for allowing the visit to military site of " Parchin", in southeastern part of Tehran, which has been done recently.

Also, the IAEA chief expressed hope that the remaining issues concerning Iran's nuclear dossier could be solved by Iran's more cooperation and confidence building measures.

Another diplomat said ElBaradei's new report is not significantly different from his previous report published in September and does not contain any new points.

He added the report says Iran has shown more cooperation with IAEA than before, and it is expected to further cooperate to remove remaining ambiguities.

ElBaradei also repeated his request IAEA inspectors be given permission to visit some military and nuclear centers in Iran to clarify some questions concerning Iranian possible work on producing missiles capable of carrying nuclear war-heads.

The IAEA Board of Governors will discuss and make decision on the report next week.
