Larijani: progress observed in process of nuclear negotiations

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Nov 11, IRNA
Iran-Nuclear-Larijani
Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani said here Friday the combination of Iran's negotiating envoy is changed now and progress is observed in country's nuclear negotiations with foreign countries.

Larijani who talked to IRNA in a press conference following the Iranian nuclear negotiation team's talks with Non Aligned Movement (NAM) Troika, added, "The NAM members have always adopted an appropriate stand regarding Iran's nuclear dossier and we observed progress in that trend today."
The SNSC secretary emphasized, "NAM plays a significant role at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and our today (Friday) session with NAM Troika was mainly focussed on cooperation in nuclear field, particularly in Iran's nuclear program."
Focussing on his letter through the ambassadors of the EU3 to the foreign minsters of those countries, Larijani said, "Those countries have still not replied to that letter and are engaged in discussions to harmonize their stands."
In response to the question, "What do you think about pursuing our enrichment activities in another country?" Larijani said, enrichment in those countries might serve their interests, but what matters to us is owning the full cycle of the nuclear fuel in Iran." Asked what Iran would do if it is faced with that proposal, Larijani said, "We would naturally survey such a proposal." On IAEA Chief Elbaradei's upcoming report to the Board of Governors, the SNSC secretary expressed hope that his report would be based on a legal procedure, technical, precise, and hopefully satisfactory for Iran, since "We have already provided him with all the information the IAEA ever has asked for."
Asked if any definite new proposal is made by Elbaradei who steps insisting on need for Iran to observe broader transparency, Larijani said, "He and the IAEA have not clarified the case in form of a written proposal."
The SNSC secretary said, "We have filed a complaint about entry of US drones into our airspace at the United Nations."
In response to a reporter, Larijani added, "US drones have been spotted flying on Iran's border regions, but never on Tehran, that is a violation of the international laws, since the flights were not launched after getting permission from Iran."
Asked if any of the intruding drones have been downed in Iran, he said, "The important point is that Iran's air space has been used illegally, otherwise what is the use of having the drones, or downing them."
On NAM Troika's views on cooperation with Iran in its nuclear programs, Larijani said, "We would further focus on the matter in our next meeting."
