Pro-Iran coalition continue to oppose EU3 draft resolution on Iran
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Vienna, Sept 23, IRNA
Russia, China and non-aligned states are still opposing the EU3 draft resolution on Iran, insisting on their stances.
Deputy Head of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) for International Affairs and a member of Iran's nuclear negotiating team Javad Vaeedi told IRNA that the main topic under investigation at the joint meeting of China, Russia and the non-aligned states had been coordination of the participants' stances.
Vaeedi said the most important result of the meeting was consensus among the participants to stand against the first and second drafts of the EU.
He stressed that no consensus exists among Russian, China and the non-aligned states in favor of both the first and second draft resolutions of the EU.
He added that the immediate effect of the lack of consensus is that no draft has been submitted to the IAEA secretariat for registration and then discussion at the Board.
The Iranian envoy said due to the same reason, no chance has practically been left for decision on Iran's case and adoption of a related resolution.
