Islamabad opposes move to refer Iran's nuclear case to the UN Security Council, a daily quoted Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman as saying on Thursday.
Pakistan also insists that the matter should be resolved within the framework of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Muhammad Naeem Khan told the Dawn newspaper.
"We would like Tehran's nuclear issue to be resolved within the IAEA framework and we are opposed to any coercive measure against Iran", Khan said.
Pakistan is against the use of force and calls for peaceful settlement of the issue, he said adding that, Pakistan had been encouraging Iran and the EU to resume dialogue.
We would not like another crisis to be created in our region, the Pakistani spokesman said.
