A number of students from Mashhad University on Wednesday formed human shield around Natanz nuclear site calling for resumption of fuel production under safeguard agreement with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Iran suspended uranium enrichment voluntarily last November as a confidence building measure with the international community on national nuclear program.

The students condemned the unfair resolution issued by IAEA Board of Governors last week on Iran and called for resumption of activities in Natanz fuel cycle.

Iran and three European countries - France, Britain and Germany - held a series of negotiations to ease concerns about Iranian nuclear programs during which the EU sought objective guarantees from Iran to ensure that Iranian nuclear program will not be diverted to production of arms.

Iran followed IAEA offers to present objective guarantees to the international community by signing Additional Protocol to Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) which grants intrusive inspection to the UN agency.

The European party offered to supply Iran with nuclear fuel, but, Iran rejected the offer due to financial considerations.

Iran has made clear that national nuclear program is transparent and aims to generate electricity from nuclear energy.

The students chanted slogans as "Nuclear Energy is Our Legitimate Right", "Board of Governors Is Unjust to Iran", "US Animosity with Iran Created Trouble for Iran's Nuclear Program".

The students said that Iran will never compromise its rights enshrined by international conventions.

They expressed disgust at discriminatory approach of the nuclear powers toward Iran's civilian nuclear program and said that all the signatory states to NPT should respect the rights of other member states.

The students expressed dismay at signing Additional Protocol to NPT and said that the step taken by the Iranian government to sign the Additional Protocol to NPT were aimed at giving objective guarantees to European party. "Otherwise, Iran should take back its signature on Additional Protocol."
