Nuclear states have not right to deprive others of civilian use of nuclear energy, Ahmadinejad

President-elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that the nuclear states have not the right to deprive developing nations of civilian application of nuclear energy.
He made the statement in his first public speech at premises of holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad.
"The developing nations are entitled to use nuclear energy for civilian utility in line with international conventions," he said.
"The world will not accept double standard from nuclear states," he said.
Ahmadinejad reaffirmed Iranian commitment to annihilation of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and said that his government will never accept right of Iranian nation to enjoy nuclear energy for civilian purposes enshrined by Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) be violated.
Iran has signed NPT and made it clear that national nuclear program aims to generate electricity from nuclear energy.
Iran has also signed Additional Protocol to NPT which grants intrusive inspection to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
IAEA charter names the Additional Protocol to NPT and abiding by safeguard agreement as objective guarantee to ensure that nuclear program of member states is merely for civilian purpose.
