Kharrazi: Iran to continue cooperation with IAEA

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, June 19, IRNA
Kharrazi-IAEA-Cooperation
Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi stressed here Sunday that Iran will continue cooperation with the
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to get the remaining issues settled.

Addressing a press conference, he regretted that the secret information provided by Iran to the IAEA has been leaked to mass media and newspapers, maintaining that this showed the IAEA was under influence of some countries.

Touching upon the European proposals to Iran, he said the European trio has not offered anything to Iran yet and noted that they have agreed to keep in constant contact with Iran while drafting their proposal to make sure that it contains all Iranian views.

In reply to a question raised by an AFP reporter on prospect of Iran-US relations, he said that regardless of who becomes the next president, Iran's present policies will remain unchanged unless Iran observes a change in the US attitude towards Tehran.

He said recent elections in Iran could teach a lesson to the US to change its attitudes and said given the fact that America is supporting Iranian opposition groups and keeps intervening in Iran's domestic affairs, there is no room left for dialogue between the two countries.

The foreign minister further noted that change of president or foreign minister will not affect the fundamental strategies of Iranian foreign policies although tactics may change.

As for the challenges the next cabinet may face, Kharrazi said such a country as Iran with its new ideas would naturally face many challenges.
