Tehran, May 29, IRNA
Iran-Asefi-Enrichment
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said here Sunday that Tehran would continue suspension of its uranium enrichment activities, if the EU latest proposal was accepted by the Iranian senior officials.

"Should the authorities accept the EU proposal, we will continue suspension of the enrichment program, otherwise, the Uranium Conversion Facility of Isfahan will resume its activities," Asefi told domestic and foreign reporters during his weekly press conference.

The EU trio has provided its latest offer to the Iranian nuclear negotiators during their last Wednesday meeting in Geneva.

Asefi further noted that the talks were held in a "completely different atmosphere comparing to the previous meetings."
During the past talks, Asefi added, It was only Iran which has been making all proposals but they were left on the table while the European side was just wasting time."
"This time, however, Europeans changed their stance and raised their own suggestions for the first time," Asefi said.

He stressed that in their new proposal, the EU 3 have committed to present their "detailed" plan for all subjects within two months (by early August).

"They have also been told that Tehran red lines are irreversible," Asefi said noting that the Iranian negotiators stressed that Tehran "will never abandon its nuclear fuel cycle program and asked them (EU-3 foreign ministers) to include the issue of uranium enrichment, too, in their proposal for Iran," he stated.
