Iran urged to use opportunity provided in Geneva nuclear talks

A western diplomat from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Wednesday said that Iran should make use of the opportunity provided for nuclear talks in Wednesday's meeting in Geneva.
The diplomat from one of the three EU3 states involved in nuclear negotiations with Iran told IRNA that if the Wednesday afternoon's talks in Geneva fail to attain any positive result, the Paris Agreement will lose its validity.
Stressing that Paris Agreement should be respected and implemented, he added that otherwise, there will be no foundation for Iran-EU3 talks.
Noting that the possible failure of Wednesday's negotiations in Geneva will bear no favorable consequences for Iran, the diplomat said that in this case Iran will be subject to further pressure in the next meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors and the case will be sent to the UN Security Council.
The diplomat, who was reluctant to mention his name, underlined that this is why Iran should seize the opportunity provided at the Geneva talks.
An envoy from Luxembourg -- currently holding the rotating EU Presidency -- to IAEA hoped that the outcome acceptable to both sides will be achieved in Geneva talks held between the high-ranking Iranian and EU delegations.
He told IRNA that he expects the ongoing talks to continue smoothly.
The diplomat stressed that Iran will undergo further pressure in the next round of nuclear talks if no progress is made in Wednesday's negotiations.
