Iran-EU3-Nuclear
The Iran-EU3 nuclear talks started behind closed doors in Geneva, Switzerland, on Wednesday.
An Iranian diplomat said on Wednesday Iran's top nuclear negotiator and Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Hassan Rowhani and the accompanying delegation had entered the venue of the talks on Wednesday afternoon and started talks with foreign ministers of the three European heavyweights -- Britain, France and Germany -- in presence of the EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana.
The diplomat said the talks are expected to last for about four hours and the negotiating parties would present their viewpoints and opinions on reaching a solution.
The Iranian and EU expert delegations in Brussels, Belgium, drew up the agenda for the Geneva talks and reach agreement on it.
Iran considers peaceful nuclear activities as its legal and natural rights based on the NPT and its additional protocols while Europeans are trying to discourage Iran from exercising this right.
The most important aim of the present round of talks between Iran and the EU is to find a way to solve differences between the two sides on Tehran's nuclear activities.
Before the talks, a member of Iran's negotiation team Hossein Moussavian told IRNA, "We are now in the most sensitive juncture of the talks and one can not make any precise prediction of their outcome."
The Iranian negotiator reiterated that his prediction of the outcome of the talks is 50-50, saying, "If Europeans have necessary political will, there will be the chance for success and reaching agreement."
Since the conclusion of the Paris Treaty last November, it is the seventh round of Iran-Europe talks on Iran's nuclear activities.
