EU-Iran-Nuclear Talks
The European Union and the Islamic Republic of Iran are to hold nuclear talks on the level of experts in Brussels Tuesday morning.
The meeting is expected to take place at the French mission in the Belgian capital.
Meanwhile, Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Hassan Rowhani is expected to meet the foreign ministers of France, Germany, the UK and EU high representative for a common foreign and security policy, Javier Solana, in Geneva on Wednesday.
British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, French Foreign Minister Michel Barnier, German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer, and Solana dispatched a letter to Rowhani early this month inviting him for emergency talks to defuse the looming crisis over Iran's nuclear program.
Straw told reporters in Brussels Monday that the Geneva talks will be difficult but hoped that they would be successful.
European Union foreign ministers holding a regular meeting in Brussels Monday voiced their support to the 25-member European bloc's negotiations with Iran.
