EU-Iran-Nuclear Talks
Nuclear talks between the European Union and the Islamic Republic of Iran could take place in Geneva next Wednesday, EU sources said in Brussels Friday.
The sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, however said neither the day nor the venue is confirmed as yet.
The meeting between Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Hassan Rowhani with foreign ministers of France, Germany, the UK, as well as the EU High Representative for a common foreign and security policy Javier Solana were initially supposed to be held in Brussels on Tuesday.
Last week the British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, French Foreign Minister Michel Barnier, German Foreign Minister Joschka, and Javier Solana dispatched a letter to Rowhani inviting him for emergency talks to defuse the looming crisis over Iran's nuclear programs.
EU Foreign Ministers are to hold their regular monthly meeting in Brussels on Monday and Tuesday.
