MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Tuesday that Iran has taken steps for confidence-building in nuclear talks and it is turn of Europe to show goodwill on nuclear talks.
"According to Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and given our undeniable right, Iran will resume its nuclear activities if Europe does not use the latest chance," he said in his meeting with Head of Spain's National Assembly Foreign Policy Commission Josep Antoni Duran i Lleida.
The nuclear technology is undeniable right of Iran and no one can overlook this very right, noted Boroujerdi who is also Head of Iran's Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission.
Elsewhere, he expressed his satisfaction with exchange of visits between heads of Iran and Spain parliaments, adding that such a cooperation could be considered as an appropriate model for expansion of cooperation with other European Union (EU) member countries, a reference to the EU-3 -- Germany, France and Britain in the nuclear talks.
He noted that Iran is the victim of terrorism and is ready to cooperate with others to uproot the terrorism.
He also expressed hope that terrorist groups in Iraq would be dismantled after formation of Iraqi newly-established government led by Prime Minister Ibrahim Jaafari.
Iraq's National Assembly (Parliament) approved last Thursday a new cabinet to serve in the future government led by Prime Minister Ibrahim Jaafari.
Boroujerdi stressed, "Iran opposes continued presence of foreign troops in Iraq and appreciates Spain's withdrawal of its forces from Iraq."
The Spanish official Duran i Lleida said that he European Union is willing to proceed with its nuclear talks with Iran and cooperation in Iran's nuclear talks would be continued.
"Spain thinks that Iran is after peaceful use of nuclear energy," he said, noting that Iran should avoid giving Achilles' heel to anyone.
He stressed that his country is willing to promote economic and investment cooperation in Iran.
He attached significance to Iran's strategic location in the region, saying that Spain would like to expand its relations with Iran in all areas.
Referring to anti-terrorism stance Iran and Spain have adopted, he said that the two countries will sign an agreement on security cooperation when Spanish minister of interior affairs visits Tehran in near future.
